According to the official announcement on the official website, this graduation has been in the works for months, as Saki has desired to return to her schooling.
This explains why management was in such a rush with the new member auditions as one of their stronger members planned on graduating, still, the way this was planned out doesn't sit well with me. Fans were already uncomfortable with the news that S/mileage would be adding new members, now that one of the original is graduating is a HUGE punch in the gut for me.
Saki wishes that everyone will continue will continue to support S/mileage after her graduation, and everyone please support her decision.
