New Kenkyuusei Promoted to Team B
Taking the spot left open by Oku Manami, we have 11th Generation kenkyuusei member Suzuki Shiori!
Suzuki was originally a member of AKB48 as a 7th generation kenkyuusei. She was first promoted to Team B during the team shuffles in 2009, but left shortly before the new team's debut, saying that she did not feel ready to become a full-time member. She rejoined AKB48 in late 2010 as a 11th gen kenkyuusei.
It seems fair that Suzuki would be promoted to Team B because she already was promoted two years ago, but it still seems weird that she was the one promoted seeing as how there are still the nine kenkyuusei in limbo. (see post here.)
Either way, congratulations to Shiori on her promotion! We all wish you the best of luck in the future!

Auditions!!!
This past week has given all idol fans something great to look forward to.
First, it looks like the 48 family is getting some new members with the addition of HKT48. The group will have their own theater in the Hawks Town Mall (Where the HKT abbreviation comes from) in Fukuoka. Applicants are being accepted from girls 11-22 years, and foreign fans are even allowed to audition!
I am actually surprised to see that Aki-P has decided to start another group this fast seeing that the time between SKE48 and NMB48 was about less than two years, still its exciting to hear about this announcement and I will be looking forward to their debut.
Now not even 6 months after the 9th gens debut, Morning Musume has announced that they are holding auditions for their 10th generation. Applications from girls 10-17 will be accepted until June 13th. According to the audition website, the purpose of the audition is to find smiling faces that will lift Japan's mood.
I have mixed feelings about this audition seeing as the 9th generation still have not had time to properly settle into Morning Musume. I am also wondering if there are going to be any other member graduations seeing as after the newest members were added, Takahashi's graduation was announced.
But let us not think about graduations right now! Lets look forward to the new additions that will be soon welcome to the idol world.
