The Truth and Fun in Eguchi Aimi

Last week I posted about 12.5 generation kenkyuusei member Eguchi Aimi and wether or not she was a real idol or a CG idol created from other AKB members. Well the truth has been revealed! Eguchi Aimi it turns out is a CG idol (as if we didn't already know) created from different feature of AKB members. She was created from:



Maeda Atsuko : Eyes

Shinoda Mariko : Lips

Takahashi Minami : Cheeks/Facial Structure 

Itano Tomomi : Nose

Oshima Yuko : Hair and Body

Watanabe Mayu : Eyebrows

Sasaki Yukari (12th gen kenkyuusei) : Voice


At first I was upset when I learned of Aimi's possible origins, when fans began to figure out the truth and Aki-P and Glico continued the charade. Even going as far as making Kikuchi Ayaka feel that she had to apologize for spilling the secret. But as time went on, and as the secret came out, I realised that Eguchi Aimi was all in good fun. She became a mystery that fans and newcomers wanted to figure out. Is she real? Is she not? Will all future AKB48 members be CG? Is CGI48 in the works?

Whatever the reason, Aimi was a fun experiment that proved to be beneficial for AKB48 and the fans, and it's not over yet! AKB48 and Glico are still partnered to promote the ICE no mi candies, and as an added bonus, fans are able to create their own CG idol using the various body parts of AKB members! Here is my creation! :

Eyes : Iwasa Misaki
